Step 1. Click the "Messages" icon on your Facebook homepage. The Messages icon lies in the top left edge and resembles two little overlapping speech bubbles.

Step 2. Click the conversation including the message or messages you wish to delete. If it is not noted on the preliminary Messages pop-up window, click "See All" to view every one of your private messages. Click the discussion on that particular listing consisting of the message you want to delete.

Step 3. Click the "Actions" button and then click "Delete Messages" on the Activities drop-down menu.

Step 4. Click the check boxes located alongside the messages you intend to remove.

Click "Delete" and afterwards click "Delete Messages" to verify that you wish to delete the selected messages.

Tip
To delete a whole conversation instead of specific messages, click "Delete Conversation" after clicking the Actions menu in the third action.

Caution
Removing an exclusive message in your Messages inbox does not delete it from the inbox of your discussion partner.
