How Do I Turn Off Facebook Messenger

Step 1: Tap "People" in the bottom-right corner of the display.

Step 2: Faucet "Active.".

Step 3: Tap the eco-friendly switch to switch off chat and appear inactive. You can tap the switch again to transform conversation back on.

It deserves noting that you can still send messages while chat is off, however you will not be able to see your very own currently "active" good friends.
