First thing to note: following doesn't actually suggest anything, specifically if you 2 aren't "friends." It simply suggests that your messages marked PUBLIC will appear in their timeline. No big deal (you noted it PUBLIC, right?).

2. Strike the "MORE" button on the right

If you do not like what you see because list, you can click the "Manage" pencil icon and afterwards the "Edit Privacy" switch in the upper right (see screen shot above).

Note: If you allow individuals who aren't your good friends follow you, individuals that send pal demands that you ignore or delete will immediately begin following you. If you don't desire someone to follow you, you can block them at any time.
